My computer and all of it's paraphernalia (that's a weird word) are chugging right along, so I'm thinking I did everything the way I was supposed to yesterday. I don't know if the computer is running any faster, but the response time in iPhoto is much quicker. I am loving that.
I wasn't digging this strawberry as I was painting it. In case you haven't noticed, I'm the kind of artist that feels the need to replicate every single little detail. Normally, I'd take the time to draw all of the seeds. Tonight I'm slightly bushed and decided to just indicate them in the highlight areas. I didn't like it while I was doing it, but it's looking better onscreen. Must give me that "step back" my art teachers were always telling me to take before I overworked a piece.
It looks scrumptious and life-like! Lovely to see that you're back from your not-so-relaxing break, can't wait to see your daily sketches again (I'm trying to get into a bit of a sketching habit myself, even posting some online occasionally, but I can't help but feel soooo insecure. Having said that, your recent series is helping a little :)

ReplyDeleteI like that you chose one of those strangely shaped strawberries to draw. I agree with Jill. i would eat it. I understand your daughter. I was one of those question asking people too. The professor I worked for once said, "Tara, do you need to ask so many questions?" At the time , I did but I don't think I ask as many questions now. I leave that to the boys. :0)
