Crazy Busy.

I know I've been neglecting my blogging (and if I didn't, my mother is happy to point it out — Hi Mom!) and I'd like to say it's going to get better.

I'd like to, but I don't want to lie to you. I've got four more weeks on this freelance gig and unless the laundry and bathroom fairies miraculously show up, I'm seriously limited in the free time department.

Speaking of the bathroom, that just reminded me that what I'd planned to do after snacks, helping with homework and washing the lunch stuff was clean the bathrooms.

Oh well.

I've taken ten minutes instead to sit here and type and in another ten minutes I'll have to get cranking on dinner. I'm finding I have to readjust my expectations, so we'll just say the bathrooms are "clean enough" and leave it at that.

In other news, I want to show you something that is just nuts. If you'll recall, this is what my front flower bed looked like in early June.

I was so excited to have plants I like and some flowers and I was envisioning it all filled in with color. That didn't happen, though. Instead, we had twenty or so 90 degree days and my poor flowers shriveled in the heat and sun.

Now, however, they look like this.

Am I ever glad I didn't rip them out when I wanted to — got too busy. Hopefully, I'll be able to enjoy the flowers well into next month.
