That's What My Hands Look Like?

I don't know about you, but I love it when artists post videos of themselves. In addition to revealing how an artist creates, a video can also provide an intriguing glimpse into the artist's world. You can often see the materials they like to use, the space they work in and what they surround themselves with for inspiration.

You won't see quite that much in this first video that I took of myself. Okay, technically, it's the second, but the first mostly showed the back of my head bent over my table and I scrapped it. Anyway, as I get better at this video thing, I hope to post more and maybe even speak on one or two.

Please let me know what you think and any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks, Karen

  1. I love your confident line - I always have to pencil mine in first.

  3. I've long admired your hatching. The lines are perfectly started and finished, uniformly spaced, and with nary a wiggle. I assumed you used a straight-edge to get those results. Now I know the truth....you're just dayum good. :) Woot!

When I try to do hatching over about 3/4" long it looks like an earthworm party.

  5. I've been a "silent" admirer of your work for a while now. I really enjoyed watching this video and would be interested in seeing you do one with adding color (just like Momma Ninja mentioned above). You're so very talented!
