It's slow going, but I'm still working on the leaf drawing ... or is it a painting? I'm never sure with colored pencil.
Regardless, I'm happy with how it's progressing. I like using the ink as an underpainting with colored pencil. I don't need to add dark colors to achieve the shadows, so they stay crisp and colorful.
Oh my gosh, Karen, this is GORGEOUS! I thought it was very interesting even before you added color, but now... Holy cow!
ReplyDeleteThis is exquisite.
ReplyDeleteOh, Karen - this looks amazing! I can't wait to see the final...
ReplyDeleteyou must have much more patience than I do! ;)
Great progression of colour. I would make a great stop-gap motion picture (Too late now!)
ReplyDeleteThis is looking wonderful, Karen!
ReplyDeleteI'm the same as you....I'm confused as to what to call a piece of art done with coloured pencils as, technically, it's not a painting because paints aren't involved. Pencils equate with drawing, however, a lot of coloured pencil artists do classify their art as paintings so I think 'painting' is indeed the right terminology to use.
This is going to be gorgeous. Love what you have done already. Fall leaves are one of my favorites. :)
