Need Help?

Hey, all you artist's out there! Need help with your Artist's Statement? Then this site is for you!

This is what I ended up with ....

Karen Blados's Artist Statement

Through my work I attempt to examine the phenomenon of The Tasmanian Devil as a methaphorical interpretation of both Vincent Van Gogh and running.

What began as a personal journey of shitism has translated into images of pizza and eyes that resonate with caucasian people to question their own redness.

My mixed media clouds embody an idiosyncratic view of Mother Theresa, yet the familiar imagery allows for a connection between Marilyn Monroe, birds and eggs.

My work is in the private collection of Ted Lange who said 'Gadzooks!, that's some real amazing Art.'

I have exhibited in group shows at McDonald's and Local Girl Gallery, though not at the same time. I currently spend my time between my kitchen and Berlin.

Through my work I attempt to examine the phenomenon of Pepe le Pew as a methaphorical interpretation of both DaVinci and blogging.

What began as a personal journey of cripeism has translated into images of rice and fingers that resonate with Scandinavian people to question their own tealness.

My mixed media cat embodies an idiosyncratic view of buddha, yet the familiar imagery allows for a connection between John Lennon, inks and crackers.

My work is in the private collection of Gavin McLeod who said 'OMG!!, that's some real calm Art.'

I am a recipient of a grant from Folsom Prison where I served time for stealing mugs and tie clips from the gift shop of The Heritage Hill in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I have exhibited in group shows at Subway and Plains Art Museum, though not at the same time. I currently spend my time between my favorite chair and Berlin.
