The art teacher at the Punks' elementary school is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Only way to describe her. She gets these young kids excited about art, and when I say that I don't just mean what they create themselves.
She introduces them to different professional artists and art movements. Then she gets them to produce works in the style of famous artists!

Somehow she knows which artists to introduce at each grade level and the kids produce beautiful works of art. I didn't study famous artists until high school!
Sounds like your schools' art curriculum is similar to ours in the UK - teaching art to 7 & 8 year olds was a great pleasure.
