The minions don't care that June 21 is the summer solstice and therefore the beginning of summer. Today is the first day of vacation – weekends don't count because they don't have school then anyway – so it's summer.
Today is also the day my title – Mom – unofficially changes to
Blados Entertainment Director.
Yippee!
As for the plate, it used to be my mom's and hung in her kitchen for as long as I can remember. She gave it to me when they moved to their condo and I had it in my kitchen until we moved to this house seven years ago. It's been in the basement, but after a weekend of being asked what we're going to do that's fun this week, I brought it up to my office. Hopefully it will help.
Someday you can pass it on to another generation.
