Flower Doodle Experiment.

Believe it or not I'm starting my 40th sketchbook. This is another 5.25in x 8.5in Large Portrait Hand Book Watercolor Journal by Global Art Materials and after finding out with the last book that the cover can be painted, I decided to decorate it on purpose this time around.

I used a Pentel Gel Roller for Fabric to doodle some flowers all over both sides of the cover. (Can you tell I'm ready for Spring?) I also used a Sharpie Rub-A-Dub Laundry Marker on the left side to make the lines of the larger flowers bolder. It bled a little, which didn't thrill me, but it's less noticeable now that I'm adding watercolor.

It smells a little funny – kind of like a wet dog – but it doesn't seem to be hurting anything so far. I'll give you a final report (and pictures) after I finish both sides.
