I'm Having a ME Day.

Am I the only one who struggles with finding time to spend with just me, myself and I? Is it a woman thing? A mom thing? I always feel like I have to get everything I'm supposed to do out of the way first.

It usually goes something like this: I get moving around 6:45am, get the kids moving and get them to school; I run a few errands, work on a client's graphic design job, eat lunch, do some more work for a client and it's time to go get the kids from school; The kids, hubster and I get through homework, dinner, a walk with the dog, play for a bit and the kids go to bed around 9pm.

And now it's free-time! Yay!

Only after chatting for a few minutes, the hubster and I both usually crash, wake up in time to catch the weather and then go to bed.

Yeah, the usual way of doing things isn't really working for me.
Instead, I decided to make Thursday, January 9 my first official Me Day. Errands can wait – especially since I need the kid whose eyeglasses we need to pick up and he's at school. I have work coming from a client, but it's not here yet. The house is mostly clean and I just did laundry on Tuesday.

And then I got overwhelmed trying to think of what I'd do all day, so I made it a Me Morning instead. Sigh.

Basically, I gave myself from 9am to 12noon to play in my studio. I slapped some paint around, worked on a spread in my journal ...
... and tried something new I have no idea how to make work.
That's four things ... count them ... four creative projects I've started this morning. I bet I can even find time to finish work on something again later – while I'm watching dinner cook, when the kids are taking showers or even when the hubster turns on a car show.

Or heck, maybe even after lunch if I'm still waiting on work from my design client. I'm totally liking this Me Morning deal!
