Better Tonight.

I've been feeling well enough today – while I mostly laid around like a lump – to get a little philosophical. I've come to the conclusion I don't like the phrase cancer survivor. To me, surviving seems like something that just happens, like you survive a bear attack. What? I watched Brave last night with Punkette. Anyway, I think the biggest factor in walking away from a grizzly bear bent on making you dinner is probably luck. A whole heck of a lot of luck.

I'd rather be known as something a little more proactive. How about cancer-ass-kicking-head-knocking-and-name-taking-WARRIOR-CHICK? Yeah, that might be a bit of a mouthful. Let's just go with WARRIOR.

BTW, if those Chinese symbols I think represent warrior spirit actually mean something like Taco Bell, please let me know. Thanks. ;-)

  2. Kick cancer's ass, Warrior. This week marks 18 years since I had ovarian cancer. I'm now 39, mom of four. It can be done. You will feel like crap and the extra stuff like the teacher's strike will give you something else to think about (which is essential so you don't make it all about you...that gets old really fast ;-).

    1. Oh wow, that's a young age to go through that! I'm so glad you're well and crazy enough to mother 4 kids! We prefer the man to man defense and stopped when we had one of each. ;-) Thank you for the encouragement and success story ... everyone can keep those coming. Be well, Karen

    1. Thank you Margaret Ann! I am truly humbled by your kind words. I'm here because so many artists brave enough to post their work have inspired me and it's gratifying ... and really surreal ... to know I might be having a similar effect.
