Crappy Photo Alert!

I just started working on my table set-up last night when I realized a couple of things.

Even with two leaves in the dining room table, I'm still about a foot-and-a-half short of the 8-foot-long table I'll have at the craft fair.

I need to nail the little trees to some plywood so they'll quit flopping over as soon as I put more than two ornaments on them.

I need to figure out something to cover the aforementioned pieces of plywood with.

The plaid may be a little too much for my items to compete with, so I need to find an alternative.

I want more than one level, but I'm not sure how to achieve that.

And a few other things I can't remember right now.

Good thing I've got three more weeks to figure this stuff out.

  1. Trying to arrange 'things' is always more difficult than you think - keep at it.

  2. Jill -- it's one of those cases of having an idea in my head and making it a reality. Doesn't always work out as anticipated, but yes, I'll keep at it. I actually think this will be the hardest part, which is why I've tried to leave myself a good amount of time.

  3. How exciting! Just my two (unasked for) cents...Use a white table cloth so everything pops against it, use white wrapped Christmas packages (with silver ribbons? sturdy weighted boxes or wood blocks) for your different levels, paint the plywood white and put some white batting at the bottom to look like snow...

    Oh, how I love a good table-scape...

  4. A black tablecloth/fabric would show off your colorful pieces really well, but the plain red is better than the plaid. If you had a black base, you could use the solid red for that runner/accent color. Could loosely wrap some red, green, or even the plaid cloth (if you are willing to cut it up) around the bases of the trees to cover the wooden bases you are going to make. Could probably find something cheap or in remnants at a fabric store. But you're right--the plaid would compete with your product. So exciting to see you getting ready for the craft fair. Been many years since I manned a craft table--hehe! Have fun!

Thank you for visiting! I'm so happy you stopped by!
